In the interest of full disclosure: I am the owner of the restaurant. We have one location in Ann Arbor, MI at 3365 Washtenaw Ave and are working on opening our second Ann Arbor location at 529 E Liberty St within a couple months. We use 100% certified organic, 100% grass fed, 100% free range beef. We source the beef directly from a co-op of family farms, and we grind it in the restaurant ourselves with no additives and fillers. The cows are never fed grain, and you can not only taste the difference, but I have many guests comment on how they can feel the difference right after a meal here versus somewhere with industrially raised beef.
We have a variety of GMO-free produce for you to choose as toppings AND organic bacon. We also are always happy to check ingredients and are extremely transparent in accommodating food sensitivities when you are choosing condiments (or anything else on the menu). We can also wrap the burgers in lettuce instead of a bun for those avoiding carbs or gluten. Our lettuce wrap is one that is fully enclosed, so you can actually pick it up and eat without needing a knife and fork.
Our fries are made from GMO-free potatoes. We cut the potatoes ourselves in an open kitchen, so you can watch us doing it. We fry them in 100% olive oil (Bertolli Classico) which is also GMO free. We don't dust them with anything and nothing else goes in the fryer. Therefore, they are both gluten free and made without any industrial seed oils.
We make our milkshakes by scooping real ice cream (Blue Bunny) and blending in optional toppings and hormone free milk. The optional toppings include real fruit (bananas, strawberries, blueberries or mangos). Our cookies are made from our own recipe using organic eggs and butter.
In addition to our fountain machine, we do have bottled beverages including cane sugar sodas, organic milk and organic juices, and we brew organic iced tea (Honest Tea).
Our menu and ingredients are by no means perfect, and we are always looking for ways to add more organic items and use better ingredients (while keeping the menu pricing reasonable), but I think we provide an excellent option for those looking for Real Food in a restaurant.
